Time for uniform civil code, says Yuva Chetna convener

HYDERABAD: The national convener of Yuva Chetna, Rohit Kumar Singh, in an address in the city on Thursday, credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for putting India on the global map since 2014.

He also highlighted the abolition of the triple talaq practice, saying: “Muslim sisters are now free from the fearful repercussions of customary triple talaq. Section 370 now stands nullified, and because of this, India is on its way to becoming a Vishwa Guru. The time has come for the imposition of uniform civil code because there should be one law for all since India is a secular nation and there should be one law for every religious entity.”

While claiming to be an independent organisation not affiliated with any political party, Singh said that the entire country is with Narendra Modi and predicted losses for the Congress and the AAP in the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh polls.

“Historic events like Ayodhya temple, Kashi Vishwanath corridor, Ujjain Mahakal corridor are happing right now under Modi,” he said.

He said that the Indian people must be thankful to Modi for introducing the new education policy. “Lord Macaulay had destroyed India’s education system and none of the successive Indian governments post-independence made any efforts to undo the damage. The idea of changing the medium of MBBS courses to Hindi is going to have far reaching consequences.”

Singh also credited Modi for ending nepotism and dynastic politics.
