Kozhikode: POCSO case registered against teacher who abused students

Kozhikode: Atholi police registered a case against a teacher, who allegedly sexually exploited a few students of Edakara AUP school in Thalakalathur panchayath on Friday. Parents of the victims complained about the teacher, TA Narayanan, to the school headmistress, who apprised the District Childine Officer. On Thursday, Childline officials registered the statement of the students, who confirmed that the teacher tried to grope them on several occasions in the school.

According to the parents of two girls, on the pretext of holding special classes for below average students, the school teacher tried to grope some of the girl students after the class hours. “The students stated that the teacher hailing from Nanmanda used to let off boy students early from the class but did not let the girls leave”, said Childline officials. Atholi police said that the teacher was presently absconding and a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act had been registered against him.
