Hyderabad: An inquiry was ordered after T.S. Uma Maheswara Rao,  Jawaharnagar inspector, was seen in pictures sitting in front of a woman with his legs on the cot. The inspector went to the woman’s house to inquire about her husband’s murder. Though the incident happened a month ago, the pictures surfaced on Saturday.  The inspector was accused of sexually harassing a woman constable while he was posted at the Abids police station six years ago.

He was suspended then. After taking charge at Jawahar-nagar three months ago, the inspector had allegedly trespassed into a house of a woman under the pretext of an inquiry and created a ruckus and damaged the furniture in the house.  “I was sitting on a chair which was broken and dictating to her the complaint. To support myself, I rested my foot on the cot and pushed the chair back. All the allegations are baseless,” the inspector said.
