Warangal: Eighty passengers travelling in a TSRTC bus narrowly escaped a major accident when the vehicle’s tyres detached suddenly from the moving bus in the outskirts of Elkathurthy village in Hanamkonda district on Sunday.

Incidentally, in a recent road tragedy near the same village, a speeding sand lorry hit a car killing five persons.

According to sources, the Palle Velugu bus from Huzurabad to Hanamkonda was carrying 80 passengers as against its capacity of 55 members. Its rear tyres got detached from the wheel hub making a loud sound.

As it was being driven slowly, the bus veered to the roadside and came to a stop. However, some passengers sustained injuries. Later all the passengers were sent in another bus.
