KOZHIKODE: The Village Legal Care and Support Centre started on the Vanimel grama panchayat premises is a big draw. More than 200 litigations were disposed of since its inception on August 15. If the plaint remained unresolved at there, it would be forwarded to the Taluk level Adalat held in Vadakara on every second Saturday. “The programme has been commenced as a continuation of the litigation-free project of the grama panchayat. Apart from finding a solution to disputes before reaching the court, several pending litigations in the court is also being considered here,” says T. Shahul Hameed, Vanimel panchayat secretary. An advocate and a paralegal volunteer will be at the centre to solve the litigations which are free. The Taluk Legal Service Committee is functioning under the District Legal Service Authority.
