Kollam native booked for Aneesh death
Aneesh had mentioned in his suicide note that two persons--Dhanesh and Ramesh -- were responsible for his death.
Palakkad: Agali police on Friday registered a case against a Kollam-resident over the death of the 22-year-old man who was insulted by a group of assailants on Valentine’s Day at Azheekkal beach in Kollam in a moral policing incident. Aneesh Pallathu had hanged to death on the premises of his house at Anagadha near Agali on Thursday night. Aneesh had mentioned in his suicide note that two persons--Dhanesh and Ramesh -- were responsible for his death. Oachira police in Kollam had registered a case against Dhanesh and two others for torturing the Aneesh and his female friend and for circulating their videos on social media.
“We have booked Dhanesh for abetting the suicide,” said Agali sub inspector S. Subin. “We have found that Ramesh is Dhanesh’s father and we are inquiring into the former’s role in the alleged incidents related to moral policing.” Meanwhile, the relatives of Aneesh, whose funeral was held on Friday, demanded that those responsible for the suicide must be charged for murder. After the incident, the culprits had publicised the images and videos of the couple through social media.
