THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan said on Monday that  one should be careful while using one’s tongue.    In an indirect criticism of power minister M.M. Mani’s statement against Pompilai Orumai, he said, “everything rests on the tip of the tongue. Everyone should be conscious about the damage one word or one sentence could cause in  society,” he said. He was  replying to questions regarding Mr Mani’s controversial remarks at a function here.

Poet Sugathakumari registered her strong protest against Mr Mani. She said it was totally unbecoming of a communist leader to use such a language. "On behalf of the women of Kerala and on my personal behalf I register my strong protest with the government and the ruling front," she  said. The people occupying such high offices should be careful while making statements, she added.
