Hero's welcome for P Jayarajan in Kannur

The court allowed him to stay in Kannur for a few hours on the day of voting.

KANNUR: The CPM workers welcomed the party’s Kannur district secretary P. Jayarajan in style at the Kannur Stadium Corner on Tuesday evening. He was on  two-month court ban from entering the district. Mr Jayarajan visited Kannur as the Thalassery sessions court ban which prevented him from entering the Kannur district for two months, ended on Tuesday.  

Minister designate Kadannappalli Ramachandran, CPM leaders M.V Jayarajan, Prakashan Master among other leaders welcomes Mr Jayarajan. Following the court order, Mr Jayarajan was staying in the house of his sister P. Sathidevi, in Vadakara. Though he campaigned for the CPM in other districts during the election, he was not allowed to enter Kannur.

However, the court allowed him to stay in Kannur for a few hours on the day of voting. During the election campaign, instead of taking train, Jayarajan used to travel via Wayanad in vehicle to Kasargod from Kozhikode in order to comply with the court ban.

The Thalassery district sessions court on March 23 granted  conditional bail to CPM district secretary P. Jayarajan in the murder case of RSS leader Kathirur Manoj under the condition that the CPM leader should keep off Kannur district for two months. or till the charge sheet was  filed. The Court also ordered him not to influence the witnesses and should report before the CBI officials whenever demanded.
