Girl sleeping with parents dragged away by leopard, mauled to death
Ravina's mutilated body with teeth marks was later found in the backyard of the house, covered in mud.
Udaipur: In yet another case of man-animal conflict, a 12-year-old girl was mauled to death by a leopard in a village near Udaipur on Wednesday.
The girl, identified as Ravina, was asleep on the terrace of her house with her parents when the leopard reportedly caught her by the neck and dragged her away. The child’s mother was unaware of her absence until 4 am when the family launched a frantic search operation.
Ravina’s mutilated body with teeth marks was later found in the backyard of the house covered in mud, reported Udaipur Kiran.
The incidence has triggered outrage amongst the local villagers, who are upset with the government’s ‘inactivity’ in curbing leopard menace in the area.
This is the second incident in a span of just one month.
