Thiruvananthapuram: CBSE enforced strict security at examination centres in the state for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-II (NEET-II) for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses held on Sunday. Parents were not allowed inside the compound of the examination hall at the centres in  Kozhikode, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. Candidates were allowed entry only after their admit cards were verified.

Students who wrote the examinations said that the examinations were easy when compared to NEET-1. Biology part was relatively easy when compared to the Physics part, students said. NEET-II was held to give a second chance for those who appeared for NEET-I as there was no sufficient time for preparation after the announcement of the examinations. Moreover, the students who could not apply for the NEET-I were also given a chance.

Candidates coming in religious dresses were asked to report at the centre by 8:30 a.m. for proper frisking. Other candidates had time to report till 9.30 a.m.
Candidates were allowed to take only their pens and admit cards to examination halls. Students were asked to leave electronic devices, mobile phones, wrist watches, ornaments and caps outside the room. Even water bottle was not allowed to inside the examinations.

A bell was rung every half an hour to help candidates know the time as they were not allowed to use watches. Candidates were asked to wear slippers, sandals and not the shoes. This year, the state had been given exemption to admit students to MBBS and BDS courses in medical and dental colleges from the state entrance rank list whereas all private medical colleges have to take admissions from NEET.
