193 complaints pour in over one-hour rain spell in Hyderabad

 Hyderabad: With the city again in clutches of intense downpour on Monday evening, usual functioning of offices and educational institutions have been called into question again, as a red alert was sounded by the IMD on Monday.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) received 193 complaints of waterlogging, as the city struggled to cope with the hour-long onslaught.

GHMC officials said they have resolved around 30 complaints.

A wall of a structure at the Raj Bhavan also collapsed, following which DRF teams were rushed to the spot. There was no casualty.

Meanwhile, the city’s Osmansagar reservoir neared capacity, while the Hussainsagar also threatened to overflow.
