HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court on Monday adjourned a batch of petitions relating to cadre allocation of All India Services to Telangana and AP, including DGP Anjani Kumar and 12 other IAS and IPS officers for two weeks.

The Telangana government on Monday contended that these petitions have to be heard only after the decision of the High Court in the review petition filed by it against the recent orders pertaining to Somesh Kumar’s allocation to Andhra Pradesh.

The counsel appearing for the state submitted that it had filed the review petition against the orders directing Somesh Kumar to go to Andhra Pradesh, after he had served as Telangana’s chief secretary. As the Union government was arguing that these allocations will be only after the judgement on Somesh Kumar. Hence, Telangana government was urging the court to postpone the hearing till a decision is taken on its review petition.

Whereas, the Union government  informed the High Court that the cadre distribution tussle of seven of 13 officers fall within the purview of the judgment delivered by the High Court early this year and hence they all can be declared as cases that are covered by the 'Somesh judgement' and accordingly they should be dismissed.

But, the counsels representing the bureaucrats objected to the contentions and sought hearing of the individual case, without going into the order in Somesh Kumar petition.a
