ADILABAD: Allam Rajesh, a SSC student in the government-run tribal ashram school at  Elluru village in Penchikalpet mandal, died of viral fever complications. He had been unwell for a week, and died at Asifabad while being taken to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Adilabad, for better treatment on Wednesday.

Leaders of student and social organisations staged a rasta roko in Asifabad with the body, and alleged that Rajesh had died due to the negligence of the hostel staff and warden.

They alleged that the ashram school staff did not inform Rajesh’s parents of his condition. By the time his parents came to know of it and shifted him to a private hospital in Kagaznagar, Rajesh’s health had deteriorated.

The student leaders demanded the authorities give `15 lakh as compensation to Rajesh’s family and a job to the family member.
