ANMs protest demanding regularisation of services
KAMAREDDY: Auxiliary Nurses and Midwives (ANM) staged a protest in front of the municipal office here on Thursday demanding the regularisation of services of the second ANM. The ANMs staged protests in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts over their long pending demands.
The protestors raised slogans against the state government.
Congress senior leader Mohammad Ali Shabbir visited the agitation camp on Thursday and extended support to the ANMs. Speaking on the occasion, he said that for the last 16 years, second ANMs have been working under the National Health Mission as contract employees. Health services improved in rural areas due to the services of second ANMs, he said.
Shabbir Ali said that the demand for ANMs will be included in the election manifesto of the Congress party. After Congress came to power, all the second ANMs will be regularised, he assured. He also demanded that ANMs, who were selected through the district selection committee, should be regularised without further written examinations.
