No justification for UDF demand: Kanam Rajendran
The verdict by the trial court has not brought forward any fresh issue to public domain, Mr Rajendran said.
Kochi: The CPI, which part of the LDF government, is unlikely to make use of the adverse court verdict against power minister M.M. Mani to take potshots at CPM. CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran told this newspaper that Mr Mani became an MLA and later a minister even as the case was pending in the court. The verdict by the trial court has not brought forward any fresh issue to public domain, Mr Rajendran said.
"Let the trial proceed to its logical conclusion," he added. He ridiculed the UDF leaders for demanding Mr Mani's resignation. "UDF leaders like Oommen Chandy and K.M. Mani refused to step down even after they faced serious allegations. Their demand of Mr Mani's resignation on political morality smacks of duplicity and double standards,"he added.
