15-month-old infant gets digital hearing aids

HYDERABAD: A 15-month-old baby suffering from profound hearing loss in both ears was donated a pair of digitally programmable hearing aids on Sunday, at an event held by the Meenakshi Venkataraman Foundation (MVF).

The child’s parents Nirmala and Ramesh said the hearing loss was since birth. The foundation identified the child and Ram Koundinya donated the aids.

Sethuraman, managing trustee, MVF, said that hearing loss in early childhood affects speech development and subsequently, the overall development of the child.
