ANANTAPUR: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced that he would implement a few more welfare schemes even as the “people are happy with receiving exclusive welfare schemes at their doorsteps, without any irregularities,” during the past four and a half years.

"Our government has been working with a proper plan and policy. It has been implementing welfare schemes in a satisfactory manner. We would come up with more such schemes soon," the CM said.

The chief minister, who was on a three-day visit to Kadapa district, offered prayers and paid tributes at the YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya in Pulivendula assembly segment on Sunday.

He held a review meeting with the leaders and officials on developmental activities under the Pulivendula Urban Development Authority at Idupulapaya estate.

The meeting was organised after a long gap, to enable the CM to have interaction with leaders and representatives from Pulivendula over various issues and pending development works.

Collector Vijarama Raju briefed the CM that more than 14,000 acres were brought under horticulture irrigation under Pulivendula Branch Canal, CBR, minor and micro irrigation ayacut areas in Pulivendula rural mandal.

PADA’s OSD Anil Kumar Reddy said Rs 44.40 crore was sanctioned for PADA and Rs 31.08 crore was spent in the mandal so far. In addition, works of Rs 58.85 crore were completed as against a budgeted allocation of Rs 135.49 crore from different departments.

The chief minister received representations over development from leaders. The leaders sought additional storage points at Mothunuthana Palle of the CBR-Errabelli Pipeline project to irrigate more dry lands. Noorbhasha Dudekula Sangam leader Md. Rafi urged the CM to recognise them as Muslims as they were “following all Muslim customs.”

Incharge minister Adimulapu Suresh, Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy, adviser Dhananjay Reddy and others were present.
