Mishap kills 4 of family, on way to collect accident victim's body

Hyderabad: At least six persons including four members of a family died in two different road mishaps that took place in Nalgonda district on Monday. The police suspect that thick fog had formed early hours, and it was the cause of the mishap due to invisibility.

In the first case, two persons died on the spot at Vempad Bridge after a bike rammed a pedestrian. The biker and pedestrian Nagaraju and Ramavat Keswavaulu died. Upon noticing the mishap, the family members of Kesavulu were proceeding to Vempad Bridge. However, a speeding truck hit a Tata Ace vehicle in which Kesavulu family members were travelling and four persons died on the spot and three persons suffered injuries.

The deceased were identified as Ramavath Keswavulu, 19, bike rider Nagaraju, 28, Kesavulu family members -- Ramavath Ganya, 40, Nagaraju, 30, Ramavath Pandu, 40, Ramavath Bujji, 38.

According to police, when Ramavath Kesavulu was walking on the stretch, Nagaraju who was riding a bike hit Kesavulu and both died on the spot at Vempadu bridge. The mishap took place early hours on Monday. The family members of Kesavulu received information and they started from their place -- Puliya Tanda in Nalgonda district.

The family members hired a Tata Ace vehicle, and they were proceeding to Vempad Bridge to see Kesavulu. As the victims crossed Nidamanuru, a speeding truck hit the Tata Ace vehicle in which the victims were travelling, and four persons died on the spot and three suffered injuries.

The Police visited the place and found the bodies of the victims. In the mishap, the Tata Ace vehicle was damaged completely. Police shifted bodies to the government hospital for postmortem. Police have registered two separate cases under negligence driving caused by death.

The truck driver told the police that thick fog was formed and he was unable to notice the vehicles coming head-on. Police recorded the statement of the truck driver.
