Agriculture minister VS Sunil Kumar urges students to make utmost use of resources

Thrissur: Agriculture minister V.S. Sunil Kumar on Saturday inaugurated library service extension and development of digital library and repository programme at Kerala Agricultural University(KAU) Central Library. He urged students to put their resources to the maximum use and wanted traditional farm wisdom to be preserved in the library along with books and documents sharing advanced knowledge. He also released the annual magazine of Academy for Climate Change Education and Research.
KAU vice-chancellor Dr P. Rajendran presided over the function which was also addressed by executive committee members Dr Jose Joseph and Aji Francis, registrar Dr S. Leenakumari, university union president Adarsh C. Soori and librarian A.T. Francis. “Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) Central Library and its services will now be available for for non-KAU students, teachers, researchers, farmers and other public,” the university PRO B. Ajith Kumar said.
The library is housed in a sprawling 4,000 square metre building at the KAU headquarters at Vellanikkara here. It coordinates the KAU library and information System (KAULIS) consisting of the central library and six college libraries and research stations spread all over Kerala. The KAU Library with most modern facilities has science books and journals, books on literature, entertainment, and cinema as well as more than 3,000 online journals.
