Oommen Chandy not sure of being at helm again
He said he was not afraid of the opposition allegations as he had a clear conscience.
Kochi: Chief minister Oommen Chandy on Monday chose it prudent to correct a supporter who publicly suggested that he will return as chief minister saying the decision will be taken by the elected members of the Assembly after the elections.
Replying to questions at a debate organised as part of the campaign held in Kunnamangalam in support of party candidate T. Siddique, the chief minister said he agreed with the questioner that the United Democratic Front (UDF) will return to power. “But it is not right to say that I will continue as chief minister,” he said. “I will be there only till the elections. It is not a must that I continue…it will be decided by the MLAs once the elections are over.”
Mr Chandy, who insisted that he cannot be called ‘future chief minister’, also parried questions on the choice of ministers in a UDF ministry. He said he was not afraid of the opposition allegations as he had a clear conscience.
