Begumpet air base has a new chief
Air Cmdr Aserkar is a graduate of the National Defence Academy and was commissioned in the fighter stream of IAF on June 11, 1988.
Hyderabad: Air Commodore M.B. Aserkar took over Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station, Begumpet, on Thursday. Station Commander Group Captain K. Sanjeev Kumar ceremonially handed over command to him.
Air Cmdr Aserkar is a graduate of the National Defence Academy and was commissioned in the fighter stream of IAF on June 11, 1988. He has flown a variety of aircraft such as Hunters, MiG-21/T-96 and An-32 and has over 5,000 hours of flying experience. He is qualified on transport special operations. Holding a post-graduate degree from the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, the officer has commanded 25 Squadron and 36 Wing and has held a staff appointment as Operations IIA at the Western Air Command.
Prior to this appointment, he was Air Officer Commanding of the Air Force Station, Agra.
