Srisailam Devasthanam starts free service for needy

KURNOOL: Free arjitha sevas were launched at the Srisaila Devasthanam on Tuesday for the convenience of white ration cardholders. The programme started at Chandravathi Kalyana Mandapam in a traditional manner. The devotees who had registered themselves online for the free sevas participated in Samuhika Abhishekam.

The Samuhika Abhishekam was performed with the mentioning of the 'gothra' namas of the devotees. Later, a Kalash Puja and a Maha Ganapathi Puja were performed. The Samuhika Abhishekam was performed by all the devotees and they were then led to have the Sparsha Darshan.

Upon commencement of free sevas, the darshan of the Lord and Ammavaru was arranged.

Executive Officer S Lavanna said free seva helped even ordinary devotees to perform their services to Swami and Ammavaru on the day of Arudra Nakshatram, and an opportunity has been given to them for the abhishekam.

Devotees with white ration cards have been given the opportunity to participate in these free seva on a day specially designated by the devasthanam. Every month, 250 devotees would be provided with this opportunity. “Those who wish to participate in the seva may register online in advance, he said.

As a part of this free service, an opportunity has been given to devotees to perform Kumkumarchana to Goddess Bhramaramba on May 12.

The Kumkumarchana was arranged due to the Shravana Nakshatra on that day. Two laddus, Kumkuma, Vibhuthi, Kailasa Kankanam and the Srisaila Prabha monthly magazine were presented to the devotees.

Devotees from Hyderabad, Kurnool, Anantapur, Guntur, Dharmavaram, Markapuram, Chirala, Nagayalanka (Krishna district) and other places participated in the Samuhika Abhishekam.

The executive officer, special invitees to the Board of Trustees, Thanneeru Dharmaraju, assistant executive officer M Haridasu, PRO Srinivasa Rao and others participated in the events.
