Kerala CPM is party pooper, says A K Antony
Mr Antony told a television channel in New Delhi that the Trinamool Congress had decided to have a common presidential candidate.
Thiruvananthapuram: Senior Congress leader A. K. Antony has blamed the state CPM leadership for opposing a national alliance against the BJP. He claimed that the CPM would have to tie-up with the Congress soon to fight the BJP. Mr Antony told a television channel in New Delhi that the Trinamool Congress had decided to have a common presidential candidate.
The Opposition should field a single candidate for the election, he said. Mr Antony had said in New Delhi earlier that the Bengal CPM and the CPI had favoured an alliance with the Congress. But CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had termed Mr Antony’s call as suicidal. Mr Antony said the Kerala CPM leadership was dominating the Left movement following its debacle in West Bengal.
