Chennai: Two teens surrender in cop's murder case

According to Maqsood, the accused Muzamil and Vignesh were hiding in a scrap godown owned by their relative in Goripalaya of Karnataka.

KRISHNAGIRI: Two teenaged boys, who were part of a gang of thieves, who allegedly murdered the head constable Munusamy recently, surrendered before the police in Hosur, but one of them consumed poison and fainted at the DSP’s office in Hosur.

It was high drama at the DSP’s office in Hosur on Saturday as 18-year-old R. Vignesh of Tippasandra in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and 18-year-old A. Muzamil of Yarab Nagar in Denkannikottai of Krishnagiri, wanted for the murder of the head constable

Munusamy, arrived there to surrender before the police. But suddenly, Muzamil collapsed even while surrendering before the police. “We brought Muzamil and his friend Vignesh to surrender. But Muzamil suddenly fainted at the DSP’s office,”  23-year-old A. Maqsood, elder brother of Muzamil told reporters.

According to Maqsood, the accused Muzamil and Vignesh were hiding in a scrap godown owned by their relative in Goripalaya of Karnataka. They decided to surrender fearing that the police would arrest the fiancee of Muzamil’s elder sister Praveen Taj.
