Tree debris troubling public

The debris has not been cleared for a week, causing huge inconvenience to residents.

Hyderabad: The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd, while checking electricity lines, has cut down trees and left them on the road at Maruthinagar, Sainathnagar and Pragathinagar in Malkajgiri. The debris has not been cleared for a week, causing huge inconvenience to residents.

This is just one example. Even after repeated complaints about cutting down of trees and the debris not being cleared, there are areas were such issues still persist like Methodist Degree College in Bogulkunta.

Mr I.S. Rao, Maruthinagar Colony president. said, “The electricity board cut down the trees and left them on the roads. Due to rains there has been a lot of water getting clogged.

This is making the area a breeding ground for mosquitoes”. In Ganeshnagar Colony in Ramanthapur, a tree is leaning towards the road. A single rain or gale can bring that tree down, endangering motorists and pedestrians.

Mr Sampath Kumar a resident of Ganeshnagar, Raman-thapur, said, “There are children in this area and it is dangerous for us to send them out as the tree can fall off anytime which is very dangerous”.

Southern discom Malkajgiri assistant engineer Venu Gopal the tree debris would be cleared as soon as possible.
