Vadakara: Revenue tower to become a reality
To bring together all local body offices
KOZHIKODE: Inspired by the revenue tower project implemented in Kochi, Vadakara region is all set to welcome the first tower in the region soon. The money for the construction of the tower that aims at bringing together all the local body administrative offices including the Taluk office under a single platform will be initiated by the Kerala State Housing Board. The revenue tower in Vadakara will be among the seven towers expected to come up in different districts in a span of two years.
“A revenue tower project in Vadakara was a long time dream of the people in the region, which has finally got its wings to fly”, said CK Nanu, Vadakara MLA. During the recent budget announcement, Rs 70 crore was earmarked for the first phase of procedures required for the tower.
“Once the tower comes into existence, we will have all the local administration offices under one platform that can be very useful for the public as well as officials. Revenue recovery office, resurvey office, Taluk office, some minor functions of Panchayath offices and other government offices in the region that are currently located in dilapidated buildings with no basic facilities will be solved once the tower is constructed”, he added.
