Vexed by official inaction, family releases snake in GHMC office
Hyderabad: Enraged by the apathy of civic authorities to his plight, a resident of Bharathinagar in Alwal captured a snake that had entered his house — after waiting for hours for help from officials in vain — and released it in the GHMC ward office on Tuesday.
The incident took place in a residence near Temple Alwal of Alwal division, officials said.
The incident of the family releasing the snake on a table of the ward officer was captured in a video, as locals questioned crowded the office to question the authorities over laxity in action.
Sampath Kumar, a resident of Temple Alwal, said: “The civic authorities here do not respond on time; there are also several sanitation issues that need to be addressed on priority.”
When contacted about the incident, GHMC’s Alwal circle manager Praveena said: “I have no clue about Bharat Nagar in Alwal as I only took charge a few months ago.”
