TIRUPATI: Smoke emanated from the wheels of Tirupati-Adilabad Krishna Express near the Venkatagiri Railway Station in Nellore district on Friday.
Sources said passengers in an AC coach noticed the smoke emanating from the wheels. They pulled the emergency chain, halting the train between Venkatagiri and Ellakuru railway stations.

The train’s co-pilot inspected the bogie and informed the Venkatagiri station master and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The train halted for over 20 minutes. After it started, the smoke emanated again. The passengers again pulled the chain and vacated the bogie.

RPF, along with the Carriage and Wagon Repair workshop team reached the spot, checked the affected bogie and undertook repairs. The train then left for Secunderabad.
