Kunnukuzhy: BJP office attackers yet to be arrested

The CPM- BJP district leadership has been engaged in mudslinging for a week after the attack.

Thiruvananthapuram: The BJP national executive meet has got over but the city police is yet to arrest the attackers who hurdled country bombs at its state committee at Kunnukuzhy on September 7. The police could not find the identity the suspect in spite of scanning exhaustive CCTV footage from the area where attackers had entered and exited the road towards the office.

“We are yet to make headway in the case. A few suspects are under our surveillance,” said a senior police official. During the initial stages of the probe, the police had suspected an anti-social was hired to hurl country bombs at the BJP state committee office to trigger chaos.  The CPM workers in the area who came under fire after the incident have pointed fingers at a few anti-socials in the area.

However, police have not apprehended or interrogated any of them. Around six different teams under Commissioner Sparjan Kumar and Cantonment Assistant Commissioner KE Baiju are probing the case. The CPM- BJP district leadership has been engaged in mudslinging for a week after the attack. The BJP alleged that the bomb was targeted at their state chief Kummanam Rajashekharan who had just left the office after the attack.
