Malayalam actress abduction: Kavya Madhavan in safe zone, for now
Kerala High Court closes bail plea as police says she isn't an accused.
Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Monday closed the anticipatory bail petition of actor Kavya Madhavan in the actor abduction and assault case. Kavya is the wife of actor Dileep, who is in jail for his involvement in the case. The court observed that since was no chance of her arrest in the case, there was no point in considering her anticipatory bail plea. Police had earlier informed the court that Kavya was not made an accused in the case.
The court also put off for October 4 the anticipatory bail petition of actor Nadirsha who was also questioned by the police in relation to the actor abduction and assault case. Nadirsha had argued that the police was trying to force him to depose against Dileep and was also trying to frame him as an accused in the case.
Kavya alleged that the investigating officials were moving in a manner that was threatening. Kavya alleged that police were targeting her because she was Dileep's wife. She also alleged a conspiracy by higher police officials, an influential section in the film industry and mediamen. She also requested that the role of an ad filmmaker in the series of incidents in this regard be verified. The court, meanwhile, rejected the bail petition of Sunil Kumar a.k.a Palsur Suni who is the first accused in the actor assault case.
