DMK's meet on Cauvery will not benefit farmers, Tamil Nadu, says Pon Radhakrishnan
Pon Radhakrishnan ridiculed the DMK's all political party meeting.
Chennai: Union minister of state for road transport, highways and shipping Pon Radhakrishnan ridiculed the DMK’s all political party meeting here on Tuesday on the Cauvery issue and said the meeting will not augur well for the farmers or Tamil Nadu.
“Was the meeting held today really an all-political party meeting? Those not in alliance with the DMK but are keen to forge electoral ties with it, alone had participated in it. So, neither the farmers nor Tamil Nadu will benefit out of this meeting,” Mr Radhakrishnan said reacting to a question on the meeting chaired earlier in the day by opposition leader M.K. Stalin (DMK).
Reiterating his earlier demand for a white paper on what the DMK and Congress had done on the Cauvery issue the Minister said both the Congress and the DMK which had ruled in the past owed an explain to the people as to why they had failed to safeguard Tamil Nadu’s interest on the Cauvery issue when they were in power.
