Bengaluru: Gang attacks Zilla Panchayat member over land dispute

Bengaluru: A gang of miscreants assaulted a 54-year-old Congress Zilla Panchayat member in daylight over land dispute in Avalahalli in Bengaluru Rural on Wednesday. 

The police identified the victim as Jayaram, ZP member of Kithaganur. Around 10.30 am on Wednesday, Jayaram reportedly entered a disputed land when a gang of four arrived and attacked him. Jayaram was assaulted with knives and sticks, police said.

Few locals who were witnesses to the incident recorded the entire act on their mobiles. Jayaram was lying in a pool of blood when his family members, who were informed about the attack, arrived at the spot. They rushed him to Manipal Hospital, where he is being treated.
