Fire Breaks Out at Commercial Complex in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: A lift operator, who was trapped inside, had a miraculous escape after fire broke out in the basement parking lot of the eight-storied Navketan complex in Secunderabad, Wednesday night.

Six fire tenders and 35 fire fighters along with two DRF teams rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire, which was triggered by a short-circuit in the basement’s electric room around 7.35 pm.

Although there were no casualties and the damage was yet to be ascertained, the entire bunch of wiring internet cables was completely gutted, said Dhananjay Reddy, assistant divisional officer, fire services.

Market police registered a case of fire accident and are investigating. There are 22 offices in the building.
