Alappuzha district police chief seeks report on drunk cop

The officer was in an inebriated condition and he was seen clad in his underwear when the people stopped his car.

Police booked an ASI and a home guard for creating nuisance after getting drunk and misbehaving with the public and beating them.

ALAPPUZHA: The Alappuzha district police chief has sought a report from the special branch after a civil police officer was caught by the local people in an inebriated condition in Alappuzha.  District police chief S. Surendran said that as per the information he received from the local people, Suresh, a civil police officer of Lenin Colony, Pathirapally, Alappuzha, was caught by the local people near Thondankulangara temple in Alappuzha town on Wednesday at around 1.30 am. 

He was in an inebriated condition and he was seen clad in his underwear when the people stopped his car.  Following it, Alappuzha north police seized his car and registered case against cop for drunken driving and public nuisance. The people also captured the visuals in their mobile phone and spread it through social media. "He is already under suspension in connection with an accident case in September. So I will take further action based on the report of special branch,'' said the district police chief.
