Hyderabad:  Youngistaan Foundation hosted an exciting event named the ‘Festival of Democracy’ at Moonshine Project in Filmnagar. The goal was to inspire young folks to vote, and it drew an amazing 50% attendance from first-time voters.

The event was a showcase of diverse talents: Johnny Sandesh brought laughter with comedy, Patruni Sastry wowed everyone with an art performance. The band Varnam uplifted spirits with inspiring tunes, urging everyone to cast their votes. The other young artists who performed through the open mic were
Story teller Nagendar, Zaki, Beatboxer Shubodeep, Stand-up comedian Naseer,
Slam poetry by Piyush, Kiran Barthwal, Rappers from X Gang and Black Diamond.

The highlight was the discussions among young attendees about understanding local constituency, knowing leaders, and encouraging their peers to vote. They discussed finding their names in the voter’s list, emphasizing the importance of democracy and voting. These conversations were a key focus and lots more.
“We are delighted to have hosted an event to celebrate the ‘Festival of Democracy,’ : the election day, which served as a platform for individuals from diverse backgrounds to unite and celebrate the essence of democracy through art,” said Arun Daniel Yellamaty, Founder of Youngistaan Foundation. “Engaging with young people in a language they understand is vital, and art serves as a powerful medium for them. Our aspiration is to encourage more and more young individuals to vote and actively engage in democracy. They need guidance, and our aim is to provide them with that.”

For the past month, Youngistaan Foundation has been rallying people to enroll and vote in the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections scheduled for November 30, 2023.
