National Tourism Competition Applications Now Open
Visakhapatnam: Applications are now open for the National Tourism Competition, organised by the Ministry of Tourism's Department of Rural Tourism. The competition aims to identify and recognise villages that have demonstrated a commitment to preserving cultural and natural heritage through tourism initiatives.
"The competition seeks to promote social and infrastructural development in rural areas while enhancing tourism goals," stated Vizag district tourism officer Dasu Garikina. "By fostering competitiveness and pride among India's villages, we can effectively boost the rural economy."
Interested organisations and individuals are encouraged to visit the Ministry of Tourism's central website for detailed information and application procedures. The competition's focus on rural home-based tourism and its potential to revitalize rural communities aligns with the government's broader efforts to promote sustainable and inclusive development in India.
