Sarapanch Attacked by Govt Official in Odisha for Complaining Sub-Standard Work

BHUBANESWAR: A sarpanch was on Tuesday attacked by a senior government official in Odisha's Bolangir district as he alleged substandard construction work by the state public works department.

The incident was reported from Harishankar, a famous Shavite shrine.

According to reports, when the president of the Khaprakhol Block Sarpanch Association, Sushil Guru opposed the substandard work and irregularities in the  Harishankar temple beautification project, a senior official of the public works department named Siddharth Das allegedly attacked the former.

A complaint in this regard was filed at the Khaprakhol Police Station by the Guru.

Following the Sarapanch’s complaint, the public works official also made a counter-allegation.

Report last came in said the police arrested both the sarpanch and the official on different charges.
