Two tested positive for Covid-19 in Karimnagar
Karimnagar: Two years back, the Coronavirus which shook the entire state by spreading first from Karimnagar district again appeared with two women patients testing positive for Covid-19 in the Government main hospital here in Karimnagar on Monday.
The superintendent of the hospital Dr.Veera Reddy said that of the two women who tested positive for Covid-19, one woman was a hospital nurse, and the other woman came for a general check-up from Peddapalli district.
When they showed symptoms of the Coronavirus, RT-PCR tests were conducted and the results came positive for Covid-19. Since the new variant JN-1 started spreading across the country and in the state, the samples collected from the two women patients were sent to the Gandhi hospital in Hyderabad for genome tests.
Dr.Veera Reddy appealed to the people to be alert in view of the spread of new variant Coronavirus JN-1. If people start suffering from fever, cough, cold and headache, they must visit nearby hospitals and go through the tests. In crowded places, the people must wear masks without fail, he suggested.
