Kottayam: Poonjar MLA and Janapaksham party leader PC George on Friday demanded that the agreement signed with the Adani group for the Vizhinjam port be cancelled. Speaking to reporters at Kottayam press club, Mr George alleged that former CM Oomen Chandy and current CM Pinarayi Vijayan had formed an alliance and were selling the state. Mr George alleged that the state government would not get any revenue for the next 15 years for the 129 acres of land given to the Adani group.

“It is up to Adani to do whatever he wishes with the land including giving it on lease, start an industry, or give it on rent,” he alleged. “When 16 years are completed, the state will get one percent revenue. The Adani group was able to buy so much land in the state without spending any money”, Mr George alleged. Mr George added that the government should take over and implement the project.
