Temperature to shoot up in AP from next week

Visakhapatnam: People of Andhra Pradesh will experience severe heat wave conditions from next week, the IMD, Amaravati said in its daily forecast on Friday.

Senior IMD scientist S Karunasagar said the temperature was gradually increasing but the people were not feeling this much as the thundershowers in many areas gave them some relief.

During the last 24 hours, rain and thunderstorms occurred in many districts. The highest rainfall of 4cm was in Vizianagaram. Rayalaseema received 3cm rainfall.

Thundershowers will continue over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, south coastal AP and Rayalaseema till May 30.  Gusty winds of speed 40-50 kmph likely over these above areas, Karunasagar said.
