Telangana HC grants relief to Shivaji
Though he had transferred the amount, shares were never transferred to him due to the pendency of a case before the NCLT.
Hyderabad: The Telangana HC on Wednesday extended its previous directions which relieved actor Sontineni Shivaji by restraining the state police from taking coercive steps against him.
Justice Ghandikota Sri Devi extended the order to July 9 while dealing the petition filed by Shivaji, who approached the court with a criminal petition seeking to quash the FIR registered against him by Cyberabad Police in relation to the purchase of shares in TV-9 and further seeking a grant of stay on all further proceedings, including his arrest.
In his petition, Shivaji submitted that he had transferred an amount of Rs 20 lakh to then TV9 CEO Ravi Prakash through RTGS to purchase 40,000 equity shares of TV-9, the media channel. Though he had transferred the amount, shares were never transferred to him due to the pendency of a case before the NCLT.
