TTD starts facial recognition system for marking attendance
Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has taken a significant step towards enhancing employee discipline by introducing the facial recognition attendance system for its workforce.
TTD executive officer (EO) A.V. Dharma Reddy officially inaugurated the system on Thursday at the devasthanam’s administrative building in Tirupati.
With this, over 8,000 regular employees and more than 10,000 contract and outsourced staff will have to mark their attendance daily with the facial recognition system.
Speaking after launching the system, Dharma Reddy said the new attendance system has been rolled out across all TTD-run educational institutions, hospitals and other affiliated organisations, in addition to the devasthanam’s offices in Tirumala and Tirupati.
He expressed confidence that the innovative technology would streamline the process of attendance and improve discipline within the vast workforce of the devasthanam.
The TTD EO underlined that facial recognition system will eliminate the potential for time fraud and human errors that occurred in the traditional attendance system.
“This technology marks attendance by identifying facial features. It not only saves time but also ensures that attendance records are accurate,” he stated.
