KAKINADA: A railway keyman Pidimi Venkateswara Rao rescued a 27-year-old woman, who was about to end her life by suicide along with her two daughters, aged seven and three years, by pulling them out from the railway track just before the arrival of a running train.

According to Pithapuram circle inspector Y.R.K. Srinivas, unable to bear harassment and torture of her husband, the woman wanted to commit suicide and stood on the railway track at Durgada village in Gollaprolu mandal of Kakinada district. When the Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam superfast express was on the track, she sat there ready to end her life. Meanwhile, Venkateswara Rao noticed them and pulled them from the track.

He informed the Pithapuram police, who counselled her and sent them to a rescue home.
