Regulars left high and dry after MMTS cancels 19 services

HYDERABAD: Many train commuters traveling from Lingampalli to Hyderabad, Falaknuma to Lingampally, Ramachandrapuram to Falaknuma, Falaknuma to Hyderabad, had to face inconvenience on Monday because 19 Multi Model Transport System, (MMTS) services were cancelled taking the commuters by surprise. Officials stated that the reason was for track maintenance.

There has been a fall of commuters as MMTS has reduced its services from 121 to 86. While the pre-Covid daily footfall was around 80,000, today the average daily footfall is 60,000.  

A senior official of South Central Railways said “these are operational reasons, the track maintenance work is underway. Based on the low percentage of footfall, we cancelled some services.”
