Nellore: Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverage Pvt Ltd donates 2 RO plants
This initiative is in line with NTR Sujala Sravanti Scheme which aims at supplying drinking water to rural areas across the state.
Nellore: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverage Pvt. Ltd. (HCCBPL) dedicated two Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants to the community at Srikalahasti marking the celebrations of World Water Week.
This initiative is in line with NTR Sujala Sravanti Scheme, one of the schemes of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, which aims at supplying drinking water to rural areas across the state.
Minister for forest, environment, science & technology and cooperation B. Gopalakrishna Reddy dedicated the RO plants in presence of Peta Radha Reddy, chairperson and Srirama Sharma, commissioner, Srikalahasti municipality and other office-bearers of Srikalahasti municipality apart from senior officials from Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages and community members.
The installation of these RO plants with 3000 LPH capacity will help in addressing the issue of clean drinking water accessibility in Srikalahasti.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gopalakrishna Reddy appreciated the initiative taken by the company and said that access to safe drinking water is the basic right of every citizen. He added that the RO plants by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverage will benefit thousands of people in the vicinity of 10 wards.
According to Mr Vishal Khitani, zonal vice-president, HCCBPL, their organisation is always committed to improve the living conditions of the communities by providing them with basic amenities. "We are thankful to all stakeholders including implementing partners and above all the community for their overwhelming support." he added.
As a part of HCCB's community initiative, the company has constructed a culvert on the irrigation canal connecting Marri Makula Chenu Kandriga village with the main village Kapugunneri.
This is dedicated to the villagers by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. S. Rama Bathemma, sarpanch and Daya Sagar, village secretary, attended this occasion along with community.
