Air Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria on first visit to Sainik school
A drive around the campus and a special assembly in honour of the dignitary was also organised.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Air Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command IAF & chairman, Local Board of Administration (LBA), Sainik School paid his maiden visit to the school on Thursday. The Air Marshal reviewed a Guard of Honour at the Guard Square, laid wreath at the Stupa of Remembrance and paid floral tribute at the bust of V.K. Krishna Menon, the founding father of Sainik Schools.
A drive around the campus and a special assembly in honour of the dignitary was also organised. Addressing the cadets, he urged all cadets to vigorously pursue their dreams, whatever they may be, but told them that they would be most suited for a life in the armed forces. Having been the commandant of the prestigious National Defence Academy, he explained in detail the requirements at the NDA.
He also asked the staff to prepare the cadets well for their bright future. He presented a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to the school. This was over and above another Lakh which was given to the school just a week prior for meeting incidental requirements. He later chaired the 91st Local Board of Administration meeting which was attended by State dignitaries.
