3,000 get offers in job mela at Guntur

Amaravati: The Job Mela held at Guntur offered employment to 3,000 students and unemployed youth.

AP Legislative Assembly Speaker K. Sivaprasada Rao presented offer letters of various companies to the successful aspirants during the closure of the Job Mela programme at Guntur sponsored by Ravela Trust and Vikasa Trust.

Mr Sivaprasada Rao said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had given priority to information technology which is providing employment and praised Mr Naidu for it. He said that the government jobs are drastically coming down and unemployment has increased to 18 per cent from earlier 15 per cent. He suggested the youth to make good use of the employment chances in private and corporate sectors to settle in their lives. He claimed that the dedicated workmanship of Indians, especially youth is strengthening American finance system and suggested the unemployed youth to hone their skills to get good jobs. Minister for social welfare R. Kishore Babu said that 24,000 aspirants registered their names for the Job Mela of whom 15,000 attended and 3,000 got employment offers. He lamented that there were 4,500 vacant jobs in 63 companies, but all the posts were not filled due to unavailability of skilled aspirants.

He stated the skill development training would be offe-red to the aspirants to get jobs in the future.
