Shamna's father, kin meet CM Pinarayi Vijayan

The CM said that action will be taken once the government received the probe outcome.

KOCHI: K.A. Abootty,  father of Shamna Tasnim, the MBBS student of EMC who died after an injection on July 18, and two of her relatives met  the chief minister at Pathadippalam PWD rest house and submitted a memorandum for speedy action regarding the medical negligence that led to her death. They said that since the probes had not officially wound up and the reports had not been published, they were concerned that both departmental inquiry and police probe were  making tardy progress.

They said that Shamna was the sole hope of the family which does not have an own house.  The government support was needed for their survival. The CM said that action will be taken once the government received the probe outcome. Mr P. Rajeev was also with the CM. He  also visited Noufal, 9, who was tortured by  his parents, at the EMC ICU.
