Nannayya university professor bags Hamsa Award
Kakinada: Adikavi Nannayya University head of Telugu department K.V.N.D. Vara Prasad is among the nine persons selected for the prestigious Hamsa Award given by the Telugu Sanskrit Academy of Andhra Pradesh.
Others who have got the award are S. Abdul Aziz, M. Ravikrishna, J. Ramakrishna, J. Subba Rao, Y.H.K. Mohana Rao, Yendapalli Bharathi, Madabhushi Sampath Kumar and Suram Srinivasulu
University vice chancellor K. Padma Raju said coinciding with the Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam, the awards will be handed over on Tuesday, August 29, at the university by academy chairperson N. Lakshmi Parvathi and director V. Ramakrishna.
Civil supplies minister Karumuri Nageswara Rao, Rajanagaram MLA Jakkampudi Raja, Rajamahendravaram MP M. Bharat and Acharya Salaka Raghunatha Sarma will attend the ceremony.
