National Investigation Agency not easy on Sufiya Mahdani
She informed the court that Abdul Nasar Madhani was under medical treatment and her presence was required for him.
Kochi: National Investigation Agency on Thursday opposed the application filed by Sufiya Mahdani, wife of PDP leader Abdul Nasar Mahdani seeking easing of the bail conditions to look after her ailing husband. She is the 10th accused in the Kalamassery bus burning case. She informed the court that Abdul Nasar Madhani was under medical treatment and her presence was required for him.
She contended that her mother-in-law was suffering from lung related ailment and one of her son had gone abroad for higher education. NIA strongly opposed the petition and submitted that Sufiya is an accused facing serious charges under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and that NIA never denied her permission for travelling to Bengaluru. It added that permanent lifting of bail condition was objected. The court will consider the case on Friday.
